Soundra Ward

Soundra Ward has been teaching business and information technology to both high school and middle school students for over 15 years.  She began her teaching journey at Culpeper High School, where she taught Business Management and Marketing.  Ms. Ward also has a background in peer counseling, where she held the position as peer counselor in her hometown of Nottoway County for two years.  Ms. Ward joined Fairfax County Public Schools in 2001 and taught at Langston Hughes Middle School and thereafter, Hayfield Secondary School, where she taught middle school students for ten years.  During her time at Hayfield Secondary, Ms. Ward was honored as Fairfax County Public School’s BETA (Business Education and Technology Association) Outstanding Middle School Business Teacher of the Year Award in 2014.  Ms. Ward also has experience working in Charles County, Maryland where she held the position as business teacher and Cooperative Education teacher.  Ms. Ward has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an endorsement in Secondary Education from Saint Paul’s College and a Master’s in Management from the University of Phoenix.  She fondly believes in a famous quote by Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
