Invite Interested Students to PSC Program Information Night

The Fairfax County Public Safety Cadets program, former Police Explorers program, provides an opportunity for young women and men to learn about law enforcement careers while gaining valuable life experiences. Cadets take part in specialized training and demonstrations with law enforcement officers as well as learn leadership, team building and life skills in a fun supportive environment.  

Requirements to join the Public Safety Cadet program include: maintaining a 2.0 GPA, be between the ages of 14 and 21, have good moral character, and willingness to comply with the rules an regulations set forth in the General Orders of the PSC Program. Meets are at least twice a month and there are three PSC program units in Fairfax County for students to join; Unit 2252 which meets at West Potomac HS, Unit 1742 which meets at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy in Chantilly, and Unit 505 which meets at Annandeal HS. 

Students enjoy group social events, participate in the FCPD ride-along program, may attend the National PSC  Leadership Academy, the PBAA Leadership Academy, have access to the shooting range, Have opportunities for community service and outreach in local communities, and participate in tours of local and national law enforcement agencies. 

Interested students and recent graduates are invited to attend the September Interest Meeting on Sept. 30, 7:00 PM at West Potomac High School.
