Building the Future: Fairfax County Land Development Department Inspires Edison Academy Students with Building Inspector Careers

Fairfax County Government Land Development representatives, Colin Givens and Joseph Priddy recently visited Edison Academy to spark students' interest in a vital role: building inspectors. This visit aligns with the county's ongoing efforts to introduce young people to diverse career options.

Colin and Joseph discussed the inspector's role in ensuring the safety and code compliance of buildings, from residential projects to commercial spaces. The shared stories of innovative developments they’ve inspected such as underground garages, automated lighting and water and even full-sized baseball fields build on residential properties. These stories ignited a passion for a career path in building safety for the students.
