NOVA Dual Enrollment Deadlines for 2019-2020 School Year for College Credits
Students who are college ready who wish to earn college credits through Northern Virginia Community College's Dual Enrollment programs at Edison Academy in the 2019-2020 school year in Automotive Technology level 2 or 3, Criminal Justice level 1, Culinary Arts level 1 or 2, or HVAC-R (Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) level 2 should see their high school counselor during the high school course selection process this spring for all details and steps that must be completed by the April 5, 2019 deadline in order to earn college credits through NOVA.
- Students must obtain an "Intent to Pursue Dual Enrollment" form and an instruction guide for completing the NOVA online application from their base high school counselor.
- Students must next apply online to NOVA in order to obtain their Student EMPLD ID number, username, and password information. The Student EMPLD ID is required on the Dual Enrollment Intent form.
- Students who do not have a qualifying test score for Math and English from substitute tests listed on the Intent form will need to take a VPT placement test. Students may take their VPT test at any NOVA campus Testing Center or at selected FCPS schools who will offer VPT testing this spring.
- Students who are Freshmen or Sophomores must complete an exceptional student packet to be considered for Dual Enrollment.
- All Students must submit the fully completed Intent form back to their base high school counselor by April 5 to be considered for enrollment for college credits.
