Thank You Teachers!
Our awesome students are submitting thank you messages to their teachers throughout this week. We will post them here with student permission. Email [email protected] for information on how you can contribute to this BLOG to honor our teachers.
To Charles Cornwell, Auto Collision Services
"It is with great gratitude that I write this letter to appreciate one of Thomas Edison High School Academy teachers. Mr. Cornwell has been a beacon of light and hope for our son.I often hear about that special teacher, whom inspires children in the right direction and passionately help them to succeed. Mr. Cornwell is that person. The fact that he not only graduated himself through the academy and came back to teach/direct and motivate others is all the more reason why our son believes in him and himself. Often times when children feel left out and find it hard to make friends its important to have a teacher that not only give our children a learning path for future endeavors but he inspires ever lasting friendships. The Ricketts family would like to appreciate Mr. Cornwell with a donation to the Academy. Thank you for all you do." D & S Ricketts
"Thank you so much for teaching Auto Collision, at first I was hesitant to take an auto body class however you have made it a great experience and have been amazing at answering all the questions I have had about my own project. I'm excited to be taking your class next year and hopefully we can get a full year of instruction. I really appreciate all the help you have provided, I am really glad you are my teacher." Charlie W.
To Stephanie Harmony, Academy Resource Teacher
" Dear Mrs. Harmony, Thank you for always being a helping hand in the classroom. It is always a pleasure to chat with you about anything and just your presence brings a smile to anyone’s face. I am sure all of us can agree how nice it is to know that we always have a second pair of eyes making sure we are creating the best possible outcome for ourselves in and out of the classroom. I would personally like to thank you for proctoring my FBLA Regional test as if anything went wrong, I
would not be walking away as the Regional Champion and a State Qualifier in something I am passionate about. On behalf of myself and the rest of the class, thank you for always looking out for us. Sincerely," A.J. M
To John Kayajanian, Criminal Justice
“Mr.Kayajanian, You are one of my favorite teachers and I always look forward to going to your class, even if I can't physically be there right now. Your class is a lot of fun and I have learned so much. Also, thank you for trying to take us on so many field trips, they were all lots of fun and I hope to go on more in the future! Thanks so much for all the extra help and for being an amazing teacher." Hope W.
To Patrick Kuesters, Cyber Information Technology
"Dear Mr. Kuesters, Thank you for everything you have done with the Cyber department at Edison Academy. I
know it may sound cheesy, but I cannot stress how your influence has inspired not only me, but
other current and former students to follow a passion for computing. I appreciate how your class
benefits the individual needs of the students before your requirements, as I am sure all of us
can agree how nice it is to learn when and how we want to. Additionally, I am very grateful for all
the certifications you have provided me as I would not believe how far I have grown since last
year with the encouragement you supply me to pass them. If you would have sat me down last
year and told me I would be the Regional Champion and State Qualifier for FBLA which mimics
the certification tests that I barely passed, I would have thought you were absolutely crazy.
On behalf of myself and the rest of the class, Thank you for being our teacher. Sincerely," A.J. M
To Karen Nestlerode, Veterinary Science
"Ms. N, your class is the best and most useful class I have ever taken. Not only do we get to have hands-on experiences, we also have learned vital skills we will need for the future. On top of all of this, your class is incredibly fun because we get to spend everyday learning about animals, something that everyone in the class is very passionate about. Everyday I go to school and get excited to have academy class, something that I’ve never really felt about school before. I miss you and the dogs so much, and I really appreciate all you do for me and the rest of the class. Thank you for making this my best and most memorable school year ever!" Lexi G.
To Kevin Russell, Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Dual Enrolled
"Mr. Russell, I want to take the time to appreciate the outstanding and invaluable effort that you have continuously demonstrated throughout this school year. Firstly, I want to thank you for motivating me in striving towards becoming a Forensic Scientist/Medical Examiner and guiding me along the way with taking the extra steps in answering my questions about Fingerprints, the Crime Scene investigation competition opportunity, and giving the opportunity to meet with specialist in the field that I desire. I also want to recognize the bond that you try to build with your students. You make the learning experience better by showcasing your bubbly personality. I appreciate all the efforts you have done," Anthony G-V
"My first ever Academy class was Criminal Justice 1 with Mr. Russell.. Within the first week of the class, I had spoken to Mr. Russell about my career choices. Mr. Russell has helped me by giving me several tips that relate to my career. I've been exposed to SEVERAL different opportunities that relate to my career.. such as the FBI, Marshals Service, Local Police and Sheriffs Office, NCIS, and the Marines. He has taken time out of his day to help me individually giving my resources I've never known existed. He has given me references to people that then connect me with others. I definitely would not be motivated to go for my career and reach my goals if it wasn't for both the Criminal Justice Class as well as Mr. Russell. Due to this class and the motivation of Mr. Russell, everything that comes to me such as opportunities and resources, I tend to jump to it as soon as I can possibly can. Overall, Mr. Russell is welcoming, helpful, and a great teacher. He is dedicated in helping those who need help. He is willing to take time out of his day. I can't to see what next year offers within Criminal Justice 2, as well as just spending time with Mr. Russell. I must say, the teachers in the entire Edison Academy are also very welcoming. They are always ready to help anyone, even if they aren't part of their class. I can just imagine being a student from a travel school, and being welcomed to the Edison Academy by the teachers every day at the front door of the academy. I appreciate you all! Thank you," Yemaj W.

To Chef Glenn Walden, Culinary Arts and Culinary Arts Dual Enrolled
"Chef Walden, I just wanted to say thank you for all of the work you put into making every class not just educational, but fun (and tasty) You always encourage everyone to do their best and guide them into finding the solutions on their own. I know our class isn't the best at participating in things (especially online) but you always make it work. And it might not always seem like it, but we do appreciate you and all the time you put into the class. Thank you for being my favorite teacher for three years in a row". Aleiah A
"Chef Walden, I wanted to say thanks for everything you have taught me these past two years in Culinary. Thank you for all the work you do. You make class inviting and fun while still teaching us about the food industry. I have learned a lot from you. You have helped me become a better Baker. I miss being in the kitchen and hope to see you in the future once this is all over. Thanks for all you do." Joey B
