Virginia State Police trooper, Charie Combo,  visited with the Academy's Criminal Justice students to discuss the work they perform which includes criminal background checks for employers, vehicle safety inspections, and traditional law enforcement roles including executive protection, counter-terrorism, tactical team operations, and the investigation of violent crimes and fire and explosives incidents.  Also presented was information about the training required to become an enforcement officer, the various teams of the Virginia State Patrol, and other interested facts about a career in this field.  Trooper Combo is a 10 year veteran of the VA State Patrol who currently works in recruiting. She has previously worked in patrol and for executive protection details.  Thank you to Trooper Combo for her visit!
