Fairfax County Land Development Services/Building Division representatives, Kyle Kratzer and Scott Verbel visited with our ECE and HVAC students on February 6 and 7, 2020 to share career opportunities that the county has to offer high school graduates who wish to enter a career  serving Fairfax county citizens as building inspectors.

High School graduates may be hired as Building Inspectors-in- training where they start with basic level inspections and progress to more complex work and higher level positions as they obtain certifications, technical training, and experience in code enforcement under the supervision of the Building Division's senior employees.

2019 Edison Academy Electrical Construction and Engineering graduate, Nathan Abbott, is currently employed as an inspector-in-training. On a recent visit to Edison Academy Nathan shared his enthusiasm for the work and his pride in attaining new certifications.
