Culinary Arts Chopped Challenge!

Culinary Arts students competed in teams in the 2022 Edison Academy Chopped Challenge that took place over the course of three days in early March. The Challenge required teams of students to prepare an appetizer on day one, an entree' on day two, and a dessert on the final day. Teams had to incorporate challenging mystery ingredients that were revealed to them each day.

Students were faced with coming up with creative and unique dishes while collaborating as a team, to cook, prepare, plate and present their dishes each day to the judges.  Each dish was judged on written and oral description that would be used by the wait staff to promote a dish on a restaurant menu, presentation, taste, creativity or uniqueness of the dish, and use of all mystery ingredients from the tray.

Local judges included cooking enthusiasts, a former professional chef, and other foody volunteers from the school and community. After compiling the week's results, winners were announced.
