Cropp Metcalfe Inspires Students to Pursue HVAC Careers
Cropp Metcalfe owner, Tim Cropp, and members of his team visited Edison Academy on March 14, 2023 to talk with students about careers in the HVAC industry where they can serve their community members by keeping them in comfortable temperatures with good quality air where ever they may be. Students also learned about the Cropp Metcalfe Academy where they may continue on with the training they have begun at Edison Academy after high school in order to become Virginia licensed HVAC technicians
Apprentices with Cropp Metcalfe are supported with training both as apprentices in their Cropp Metcalfe Academy but also once they are licensed with continuing education to pursue growth opportunities within the company.
HVAC Students may take part in job shadow opportunities this spring with the company to fully experience a "day in the life of an HVAC technician". Interested academy students should see Ms. Williford in the Academy office if they are interested in this opportunity to shadow and learn about how service calls are scheduled, time in the truck/van, communications skills needed for interaction with customers, managing tools, equipment and supplies to have what's needed on hand for service calls, and more.
Edison Academy thanks Cropp Metcalfe for their support and partnership of the HVAC & Refrigeration program through their donations of supplies, support for student opportunities as Youth Registered Apprentices, job shadow experiences, and classroom and career information visits.
