APPRENTICE EDUCATION WITH ACE 2022
Don't already have an employer lined up to get started working as an apprentice? FCPS Adult and Community Education (ACE) has an opportunity for recent graduates to get their apprenticeship education started with the NCCER CORE course. This can lead to a better resume to get hired more easily by an employer. NCCER CORE is an online teacher led course with some in-person activities. CORE is an introductory class and it is a great way for students with little or no experience to get started in the trades. Students earn 80 apprentice hours that will count towards any specific trade apprenticeship (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry). Students also earn NCCER certifications that are easily verifiable by potential employers. The course can be viewed here. Additionally the ACE Education Foundation is offering $500 scholarships for this course to students that qualify. The total cost to a student that receives a scholarship would be $100. The Foundation is focused on adults in need of support; this is a great opportunity for June 2021 and January 2022 graduates. To view the ACE scholarship application, click here.
