Edison Academy students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society for 2019 at Edison Academy.

Edison Academy Culinary Arts students competed in teams of four to come up with recipes and prepare an appetizer, entree, and dessert using ingredients from a mystery basket, revealed over the three days of "Chopped" style competitions.

Open to any Fairfax County high school student looking for their first part-time job, summer and seasonal job opportunities, or who want more information about potential career pathways. Local businesses and agencies will be on hand to offer a range of opportunities including part-time employment, internships, and volunteer work for prospective students. Free booth spaces are provided to local businesses. Students should register online to attend at ttps://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/springfield/teenjobfairs.

Students wishing to enroll for NOVA Dual Enrollment credits at Edison Academy in Automotive Technology level 2 or 3, Criminal Justice level 1, Culinary Arts level 1 or 2, or HVAC-R (Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) level 2 must complete the dual enrollment process this year with their Base High School counselor by no later than April 5, 2019

The Color of Justice program is being presented on March 23 by the Young Lawyers Section of the Fairfax Bar Association and co-sponsors Hispanic Bar Association of Virginia, Northern Virginia Black Attorney's Association, and Virginia Women Attorney's Association.

Virginia Tire and Auto offers 6-week internships for second and third year students in FCPS automotive programs each school year. Students work at local auto service and repair facilities in Northern Virginia for 5-15 hours per week. The student participants should have a valid driver's license. Inclusion is contingent upon passing a drug test.

These internships are for soon-to-be graduates who are interested in exploring careers in Building Operations Maintenance and Management. Students are placed with sponsor companies for the summer for 12 weeks of full-time work at $15/hour.

Our Automotive Technology Program has renewed its accreditation with Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for another five years! Congratulations to our Instructor and a huge "Thank You" to our advisory members who helped make this possible!
