The Service Learning Google Site for student support is now up and running. As we progress through the year, more student-focused support resources will be made available on the site. For now, there are four videos available for students to view in addition to the service learning student X2Vol login lesson.

Cyber Patriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students towards careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines that are critical to our nation's future. The major components of Cyber Patriot membership include local online competitions leading to a national competition in Maryland, local and regional cyber-camps and preparation for competitions, with career mentorship by cyber professionals.

FBLA is an international Career and Technical Education Student organization (CTESO) for students and professionals in business offering opportunities for leadership development, academic competition, education programs, community service, awards and recognition, and other benefits such as scholarship opportunities, and more.

SkillsUSA is a Career and Technical Education student organization (CTESO) for students, teachers and industry who work together to ensure America has a skilled workforce both now and into the future. SkillsUSA serves middle, high and college/post-secondary school students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled services. SkillsUSA provides competitions, leadership training, community service, scholarship opportunities and more for student members at the local, district, and national level.

Educators Rising is a national membership organization for aspiring teachers and their mentors. As a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), Educators Rising offers resources and opportunities that integrate directly into the academic programs of the Virginia Teachers for Tomorrow program for high school students. Resources for student members includes curriculum, micro-credentials, a national conference, competitions, and scholarships.

Irene grew up in Fairfax County and is currently a resident of Prince William County with her husband, son, and daughter. She earned her Cosmetology license after attending Potomac Academy of Hair Design and has worked in the Cosmetology & Barbering industry for over 30 years. Irene obtained her Instructors license and began teaching in 2015 for Fairfax County Public Schools. She loves teaching and is dedicated to the success of each student.

Marla is a lifelong resident of Virginia, growing up in Prince William County. She is a wife, mom of 2 great kids and a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  She received her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Northern Virginia Community College.  She has spent over 30 years working in veterinary hospitals including a few small animal general practices, the large animal teaching hospital at VA Tech, and an emergency and critical care practice. One of her greatest enjoyments in her career was training and teaching others and this is what led her to become a veterinary science teacher. 

Kim Karayannis has taught at Edison High School for her entire career of over twenty years and is passionate about helping future educators learn about the teaching profession in the Teachers for Tomorrow program at Edison Academy. She also teaches history and AVID at Edison High School. She lives in Prince William county with her two children and two dogs. She is active on various committees that serve Edison students and teachers.

Virginia's State Supported Colleges have developed a plan for virtual visits to aid students in learning about each school and assist high school seniors with making their final decisions about where to apply. Click to be taken to more information.
