Edison Academy gained a new Workforce Development partner, the Virginia Association of Builders and Contractors, for construction trades programs during the month of June 2019. We look forward to working with all of the ABC-VA members in this new school year and into the future to develop a strong and highly skilled construction trades workforce.

The Edison High School Academy Criminal Justice program was featured in the Fairfax County Police Department Annual Report for 2018. On the Franconia District Station page, the program students were mentioned for helping to manage "Project Sticker Shock" which helps to raise awareness of the dangers of underage drinking.

Two Edison Academy students are among the many students who received a scholarship from the Foundation for Applied Technical Education for 2019.

First-year Veterinary Science student, Diamond, has already earned her first scholarship for college. She was awarded a $1000 John H. Poteat Scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society.

Edison Academy held the End of Year Academy Awards for the 2018-2019 school year on May 23, 2019 to recognize each CTE program's Students of the Year as well as those receiving the Academy's most prestigious awards; the Academy Administrator's Award, the Edison HS Senior Academy Department Award, and the Academy Student of the Year. Congratulations to these outstanding Academy students!

Students were recognized for their achievement in the Fourth Quarter. Congrats to these students for their exemplary performance and outstanding effort.

Edison Automotive Technology student, Tyler T. honored with other FCPS students for completion of the Fairfax County Department of Vehicle Services Internships for 2018-2019.

Two Edison Academy students received a $1200 scholarship from the Rotary Club of Springfield, VA at the annual scholarship luncheon the Culinary Arts Bistro at Edison Academy.

Electrical Construction and Engineering Students celebrated ECE Night in May to recognize outgoing senior students and crew leaders and congratulate those first students who have been selected to continue in a second or third year in the program next school year, 2019-2020.

Congratulations to our Level 2&3 Electrical Construction and Engineering (ECE) students who successfully completed their International Code Council (ICC) certifications.

The SkillsUSA National Signing Day event acknowledges, honors, and encourages high school seniors who have chosen to pursue a career as a professional in the skilled trades. Edison Academy recognized seniors in the HVAC and ECE programs on National Signing Day, Wednesday, May 8, 2019. Students will be recognized also at our Academy Awards on the evening of May 23, 2019.
